My Day In A Nutshell

Hi
My name is Karen and let me share with you, my day in a nutshell. I wake up around 3:30 - 4:00 a.m. each morning. Often, it takes me some time to drag myself out of bed. My alarm goes off at 4 a.m. and I definitely have to get up out of the bed to start my workout.

I am currently doing Tony Horton's Power90 Workout program so although when I am done, I feel great, I am also drained. I then start getting ready for work and leave the house by 5:45 a.m. I pick up my family members then take a hour long drive to work.

Work starts at 8:00 a.m. but since my department is understaffed, I eat breakfast then start working by 7:30 a.m. just to try and stay ahead of the work load I know is waiting on me. In between servicing clients, fielding calls, procesing client applications and collecting outstanding debt owed to the company, my day can get pretty hectic.

At lunch time I try as often as possible to eat away from my office just to take my mind off of work and unfinished tasks. A break from that environment helps me to re-set and recharge for the rest of the day. With the stressful lives that myself and others lead, I think it is important to fit time for ourselves to recharge to help cope with stress.

When work ends at 5:00 p.m., I head out and start my 1 1/2 hour journey home. Listening to music on the way home, helps me to de-stress – I can quiet the “noise” in my head and let the music take it’s place. When I get home I am exhausted, so after my bath, I relax by listening to soothing music. The music relaxes me and I drift off into sleep and by God’s grace, awaken to a new morning and the cycle begins again.

Thanks for allowing me to share my day in a nutshell with you.
