Hello,
I am Terry-Ann and I work away from home, Mondays to Saturdays. I live alone but because i work 6 days a week I only have Sundays to rest and I really treasure my Sundays.
Sunday is the day I get to sleep late. Lay in bed until I am ready to get up. I use that day to not only rest but to pamper myself with self-massage, manicures, pedicures and facials. It is the day that I re-energize myself for the upcoming week. I can relax and unwind and finish reading my latest novel.
I have learnt that doing my chores on Sundays isn’t good for me because I am extra grumpy on a Monday morning because I am tired and stressed. So what I do is, I make a chore list for Monday to Saturday.
Here is an example of what my chore list looks like
Monday: Dust & Sweep
Tuesday: Clean the Refrigerator
Wednesday: Dust & Sweep
Thursday: Clean the Bathroom
Friday: Dust & Sweep; Do Laundry
Saturday: Fold Clothes & Iron Work Uniforms
My chore list is posted on my fridge door and in the evenings when I get home I just check the list and attack the evening chore. Yeah! I am tired but what I do is turn on the radio to some up-tempo music and I get started. The peace that I get on Sundays is the worthwhile trade off. When I am done I shower and go to bed.
I also try as best as possible to put things back when I use them and also wash the dishes as soon as I am done eating. Doing these things right away gives me less cleaning to do in the evenings.
Persons who live alone do have the potential to make a big mess, especially since they may feel they do not have to answer to anyone and can clean up after themselves anytime they feel like.
Others who do not live alone may not be able to do as I do but it doesn’t matter. What is important is that you create a home organization system that best works for you and stick to it.
Ensure that you include down-time for yourself whether daily or once a week. You will see how important that time for yourself is and how beneficial it is to your health.
